Sidi is a brand of cycling shoes up the road. Sidi shoes have been used to win most of the top professional cyclists racing in the past 40, including three times winner of the Tour de France, the Spanish rider Alberto Contador style. Yes, many professional racers were sponsored by wear shoes, but no amount of money to convince a professional to take uncomfortable shoes, and I like to look good!
The shoes are designed and handmade in Italy. The taste is a personal opinion of course, but to my taste, are cycling very classy. I know from personal experience that shoes Sidi are very comfortable, even on long trips on hot days. If you have ever had foot problems of the bike when still 40 miles from home or your car, then you know how important it is. Once I had to walk five miles home with one leg, because my left foot had pulled up very badly, because of the use of shoes uncomfortable bike!
Many moons ago I had a pair of Sidi cycling shoes that served me well for a number of years, but were fairly past looking fashionable. They were a black design. I preferred my second pair I bought in 1999 – Shades of Sidi. The most modern and colorful design was released in 1997, but was lucky to find a couple of my collecting dust on a shelf the size of a small bike shop near my house and brought a good price.
I have put my shoes 10 years of summer biking my best bike. They do not see much rain because biking cheaper and cheaper shoes in bad condition. I would say who have traveled 20,000 'sun' miles, or 32,000 km, if you prefer metric. They have been very good. The buckles and straps are in operation and as the day I bought the shoes. The soles are worn of course, and heel pads are used, but the top is in good condition, although colors have faded slightly. Wear is evident only at the top of the right shoe in the back, on the left side of the shoe. I tend to ride "on heels' and sometimes my right shoe catches in the bicycle chain. I do not think you can blame the shoes for that!
